Individual Volunteer of the Year – Aston Community Awards
Last night was an amazing night for me.
I knew that I had been nominated for a Pride Of Australia Medal, and after an incident, see my blog I was a little bit apprehensive when I received a letter late last week to tell me that I was a finalist for the Aston Community Awards, in the Individual Volunteer Achievement Award.
Last night the ceremony was held at the Knox Italian Club in Rowville and hosted by Federal MP Alan Tudge and State Member Nick Wakeling and I am honored to have won the Individual Volunteer Achievement Award.
Winning the award has been so humbling as I sat and listened to all of the people that were finalists. I sat in awe and was so very proud of all of the volunteers that are doing such good work in the community.
I am honored that I was chosen.
Thank you to my family who not only nominated me but has supported me as I have tried to make my little part of the world a better place, particularly for women.
